Erdogan Visits Quake Area as Death Toll Passes 11,600 in Turkey and Syria

  • Shortages of trucks and fuel were slowing some rescue efforts. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey visited the area near the epicenter.
  • Crews have rescued more than 8,000 people in Turkey alone. But the chances of finding people still alive are dropping quickly.
